Pig Island

Patti Jackson of Il TrulliI have a post up about the pork festival Pig Island over at Civil Eats. This was a really fun piece to work with and I gathered way more material than I ended up using--including photos. Some of these are from the pig pickup at the Union Square Greenmarket and some are from the event itself.

Can't remember where all the ingredients were from, but they were gooey and decadent, with minced bacon in the maple sauce--liked the small size.

I'm no vegetarian or PETA advocate, but posting pictures of grinning idiots hoisting slaughtered (not even hunted, but slaughtered) animals, just shows how ignorant and heartless you are. If nothing else (and I fear there isn't), did you ever think that some impressionable little kid may see this? May your nightmares exceed theirs.
